untold history

This book had some great data especially the black confederates. It's not about race as many today deem it to exist. It's function of this state history! You need to go into this book every bit a "dry sponge" and take in history you may not know. A very corking listen.

Say what you desire, Johnson does a slap-up task

What did you dear best most The Politically Wrong Guide to the Southward (and Why it Will Rise Again)?

I was pleased to come across some very positive reviews from the N E on this championship, and very disappointed to see the negative review from my dwelling house state of SC (well-nigh likely from a W.J. Greenbacks fan). Stated, I purchased the volume and enjoyed the commencement affiliate immensely. Having grown upwardly in the culture, Johnson nailed information technology downward solid in that chapter. Likewise, having to accept spent a fair amount of time in NY and NJ, he too pegged the shared view that many of us who take had to do business there, share. Regardless of where you at from in the world, this is great volume for understanding why true Southerners remember the way they do. Deo Vindice forever and God relieve the South!

What other book might you compare The Politically Incorrect Guide to the South (and Why it Will Rise Once more) to and why?

The South Was Right and some of the short essays from Dr. Loma's library on Golden Circle civilization.

Which character – equally performed by Dianna Dorman – was your favorite?

She'southward skilful - a little metered, but easy to listen to and I enjoy her song style.

If you were to make a motion-picture show of this volume, what would the tag line exist?

"The Lost Cause - that once was Lost, but now is Found"

Any additional comments?

Brilliant volume - excellent

Tubby Bearded Guy reference earned an actress star

I have to be careful when writing this review considering Clint Johnson was a friend and classmate of mine at the University of Florida. Every bit a fan of mystery/thrillers I establish this volume a little hard to get through at times. But I did learn some interesting stuff. I didn't know Lincoln tried to recolonize slaves to other countries afterward the war. I didn't know the Emancipation Announcement primarily freed slaves but in Confederate States. I learned I can now refer to Clint as a TBG (Tubby Bearded Guy) because he participates in Civil War reenactments. At times the book seemed somewhat anecdotal just knowing how tediously Clint researches his fabric I feel confident that it is fact based. I got somewhat of an eerie feeling knowing that the ultra left has kicked up its attempt to rewrite history since this volume was written a decade agone. Clint was very prescient in having a feel of what was to come in this area. I could take washed without the 2 or three seemingly interminable listings of colleges and universities that were ranked highly and located in the South. Lists generally do non were well in audio books. I also grew a chip weary of hearing about books and movies I'one thousand not supposed to read or watch without really knowing why. Presumably they bandage the Due south in a more positive light that you might expect (or the North in a less positive one). If I was a Southern history buff, this volume would accept generated 5 stars. One final caution. A book you're non supposed to read: "The Politically Wrong Guide to the Due south (and Why it Will Rise Again), written by Clint Johnson, release date:01-11-07, Publisher: Blackstone Audio, Inc.

large lie lives on.

deplorable. very sad. if a poor reader believes this hogwash... one is to believe that the old south was fabricated america. that the sometime s was a pleasant time and identify. nevermind slaves and the evil done. nevermind that southern conferate states constitutions stated slavery forever. the south could accept ended slavery only chose to boxing, dice for it. they got what they deserved as God stood with the northward, not with the south.

Could not make it laissez passer the beginning two chapter

I'm non a fan how the book starts out. I thought it would have more facts rather opinions on why the south is so keen. I alive in the south I love the s and I agree that it is swell. However, statements should have more facts to support them. Like I said I did not make information technology pass the showtime two chapters. So many information technology gets better but not for me.

Real History

Not a agglomeration of lies like the school system teaches. Great data, and explanation of Southern Pride, and besides great explanation of why the Confederate Flag.

I'm from the north

I'm from the n and growing up learning nigh slavery in Massachusetts was a riot and I knew it wasn't right so I did a picayune searching and decided to look at some other point of view and got a lot of answers that were for the most part very similiar to what I thought. Great Book!
